    Starry night journal

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge is Starry Starry night. I thought I would try an art journal page. I made an ombré background with black chalk, metallic teal and gold acrylic paints. I mixed a little teal paint with silver glitter and scraped that over the pages. I mixed a few glitters with heavy gel gloss medium to make a glitter paste for the stars. I used a Little Birdie stencil plus a stencil made from the Sizzix Birds and Stars die. I stamped the Hero Arts Dandelion woodblock and Unity Stamps Insightful Meadows dandelions with Archival jet black ink. I cut some Sizzix Make a Wish…

    Recycled

Hi crafters. After reading some art books about art journaling, and seeing the recent challenge at Simon says Stamp, I decided to try it. My journal is a recycled cookbook from the secondhand shop. It is a nice size, with a hard cover, nice paper and a ribbon bookmark. Watercoloured foil card

Hi crafters, I wanted to use some of the pieces created in my foiling experiments to create cards. This one use number 5 attempt from this previous post. Today I was experimenting with Arteza real brush pens and a water brush. I scribbled on an acrylic block and picked it up with the water brush. I didn’t go direct to the card as it was just thin ordinary cardstock. After painting in between the foil I cut MFT bottletop letters and numbers from the speech bubble and put left over foil behind. The balloon is from Stamplorations. I cut it may times from scrap and glued them together with scrap…

    Disco Santa

Hi crafters, It’s Christmas in July at Simon says stamp challenge. Look at this cute Santa straight from the the seventies doing a John Travolta impression. I wanted a foiled background and had issues as you can see here. I decided to use this one anyway as I have no more red foil. This is the grunge version 😉 . Every disco Santa needs a disco ball, but if you can’t have that, a circle of card with homemade glitter paste will have to do. Now Santa needs to show us his moves so I made a wobbler. First I got some finer galvanised wire from the garage and wrapped…
