    Hello there

Hi crafters. I saw Ericka Strange’s cards for the blog named hero challenge and decided to try it. I used distress oxide ink pads rather than reinkers. I used seedless preserves, aged mahogany, wild honey, vintage photo and antique linen. The seedless preserves looks a bit more pink than purple in this one. I guess the reinkers give a deeper colour. I tried one earlier with a distress oxide sentiment on top but it rubbed off when I wiped off the oxidation :(. For this one I heat embossed a sentiment from March my monthly Hero kit in copper. I let the heat gun heat up for a while as…

    Beautiful chaos

Hi crafters. Just experimenting with Lindy’s magicals. I was using the Artplorations Merry go round stencil with copper embossing paste and there seemed to be a bit over the stencil after lifting it, so I turned it over and pressed it onto this paper. It has random partial prints of the pattern. I sprinkled it with Autumn maple crimson, Bratwurst brown and Black Forest black. I misted, and later added more and misted again. I may have added a little too much water, but I decided more blended colour seemed better. I embossed the Stamplorations sentiment in rose gold embossing powder. I added some Prima Messy Stamp with embossing ink…

    Leafy birthday

Hi crafters. I have made a card using the Artplorations Leaf prints 2 stencil. I mixed some green paint with texture paste and scraped that over some pale mint and white checked paper. I then rubbed various green distress stains and walnut stain over the paper and misted it. When it was dry I added green oasis and acorn Versafine Clair splats with the 2 splat stamps in Stamplorations Art Marks set. The writing is Prima Finnabair Messy stamp in acorn and onyx black inks. There is also some brown spray and drops. The sentiment is a Neat and Tangled tag die but I partially die cut it then drew…

    Coming up daisies.

Hi crafters. I really love the Stamplorations Daisy Dance stencil. I started with the other half of this paper. It is brayer/ mop up paper  from making my first 2 boxes from last week. The top layers are shiny metallic paint. I thought it would be great with the Daisy dance stencil. I put the stencil on the gel press and rolled over it with  black chalk paint, removed the stencil, then added the paper. I like the contrast of matt and shiny. I didn’t want to put anything over it, and there wasn’t much room on the side, so I silver embossed a greeting from MFT All about you.…

    Eat cake!

Hi crafters. More animals. This cat from Katzelkraft was coloured with alcohol markers. He is holding a Rubber Moon cake. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday Sassy Birthday. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Animal antics. Lost Coast Portal to creativity: Challenge #63 Cats and Dogs.

    You crack me up

Hi crafters. Just a quick card for the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Animal antics. The paper is from Craft stall. The bird is Katzelkraft coloured with alcohol markers. The sentiment is Technique Tuesday Cheeky Chicken with some brown pencil shadow.  The eggs are the insides of Stamplorations balloon shaker die, layered up and coated with either crackle texture paste ( the 2 on the left) or crackle medium (right egg), then coated with heavy gel gloss medium.

    Pink stars

Hi crafters. I wasn’t happy with my messy stars and decided to try again.  I used paper from gel press experiments.  I picked this paper for the colours and it’s stiffer and shouldn’t distort. I rubbed purple, blue and green stains on the pale bits. There is a print of Dylusions squares small stencil in it. Then I started thinking about stars. I didn’t want to use the same stencil as the last card. Stars are usually random points of light or in strands or masses in galaxies. I made a fuchsia glitter paste with fine and chunky glitter, small amount of fluoro purple paint and a small dollop of…

    Starry night

Hi crafters. It’s starry night at Simon says Stamp Monday challenge. I saw the challenge and then saw these foam moons and stars in a secondhand shop. They had sticker backs. I thought this might be great for the challenge. I started by painting them with gesso. Then I put bronze acrylic paint on them. While the paint was wet, I sprinkled them with embossing powders in black, silver, platinum and gold glitter. I was also wanting to use this piece of paper which had brayer marks in black and gold as well as stencil impressions. I added old paper and hickory smoke stains to the paler bits. When I…

    Monsters

Hi crafters. Can you see what I layered? This monster looks too friendly not to have friends. I layered him up, to have the whole gang! I stamped the monster from the Simon says Stamp Stamptember Concord and 9th Stamp set in Versafine onyx black and Versafine Clair: Twilight, Monarch, Green oasis and Warm breeze inks in Bristol smooth. If I did it again, I think I would just use one colour. I used many masks, and added arms along the way. After that, I stamped lots of heads on scrap paper and practised different faces. I altered many mouths to give them individuality. The monsters were coloured with Arteza…

    Monster birthday

Hi crafters. I just received the Monster hugs stamps in the mail so I stamped them immediately! The challenge at Where creativity meets C9 is layers. I experimented with my monster on a piece of previously coloured background. It had watercolour and acrylic metallic paint sprays on it. I stamped the monster, balloon and sentiment in Versafine Clair Monarch and clear heat embossed. I used Arteza woodless watercolour pencils to layer on colour. I also added pencil, touch of paint pen and Pitt pen. I then decided I wanted to try glitter paint over the balloon so I sprayed fixative on first, then added glitter paint. A bit of washi…
