    Daisies

Hi crafters. I wanted to try some dark blue/purple paint so I took the Stamplorations Daisy dance stencil and placed it on the gel press then rolled the paint on and pressed some brayer paper onto it. I’ve been wanting to try this stencil to negatively print flowers. I trimmed the piece and added it to a blue card. I used scraps of the paper to cut small daisy shapes with the Trendy spring bloom dies from Cutplorations. I also cut some larger daisy type flowers with a punch from blue card and the offcuts. All the flowers were given a gold blob in the centre using the same paint…

    Monsters

Hi crafters. Can you see what I layered? This monster looks too friendly not to have friends. I layered him up, to have the whole gang! I stamped the monster from the Simon says Stamp Stamptember Concord and 9th Stamp set in Versafine onyx black and Versafine Clair: Twilight, Monarch, Green oasis and Warm breeze inks in Bristol smooth. If I did it again, I think I would just use one colour. I used many masks, and added arms along the way. After that, I stamped lots of heads on scrap paper and practised different faces. I altered many mouths to give them individuality. The monsters were coloured with Arteza…

    Monster birthday

Hi crafters. I just received the Monster hugs stamps in the mail so I stamped them immediately! The challenge at Where creativity meets C9 is layers. I experimented with my monster on a piece of previously coloured background. It had watercolour and acrylic metallic paint sprays on it. I stamped the monster, balloon and sentiment in Versafine Clair Monarch and clear heat embossed. I used Arteza woodless watercolour pencils to layer on colour. I also added pencil, touch of paint pen and Pitt pen. I then decided I wanted to try glitter paint over the balloon so I sprayed fixative on first, then added glitter paint. A bit of washi…

    Party animal.

Hi crafters. I thought I’d try putting an image over an old background. It was painted with watercolour and acrylic metallic sprays. I stamped the Katzelkraft cat in Versafine Clair Acorn. I coloured him with Arteza woodless watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I avoided the red blobs as they reactivate. I restamped him with Versafine onyx black and clear heat embossed. The sentiment and sparkler are from Technique Tuesday party time owl. I am entering this card in the Lost Coast portal Cats and Dogs challenge.

    Copper leaf

Hi crafters. I wanted to do an entry for the layers challenge at Where creativity meets C9. My layers are in the background. I wanted to try a crackled background. I started with an abandoned piece. This A4 paper has Lindy’s magicals Grab a guy gold, plus distress oxides and stains smooshed around. The piece had been painted with Mod Podge. The mod podge was important as the next step is usually put over an acrylic layer. I painted the whole thing with Jo Sonja’s crackle medium and left it to dry. I then did little experiments in one corner and decided to rub distress stains over it. I used…

    Box 3

Hi crafters. Another box for Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge. I started adding colours using various pink, red and purple paints. Later layers were done with stencils. Some layers don’t show as well as others. You can see a shine on the left from metallic paint but it isn’t very obvious. I rubbed some wilted violet and festive berries distress stains into the gaps. I wanted to emboss on the top and eventually decided to use the Penny Black Stamp Melange. I heat embossed it in platinum. I am entering this box in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything but a card. Stencils used: Kaisercraft: Grunge, terrazzo

    Box 2

Hi crafters. I decided to make another box, but different colours and effects. I added a whole coat of metallic teal paint. This was because the medium I use later will need acrylic underneath. I used the gel press and a Kaisercraft stencil with silver paint on top. Some paint came off to expose kraft but this will add to the antique look. I then coated the box with Jo Sonja’s crackle medium. I didn’t coat the top of the sides in case this made it too thick and hard to close. When it was dry I rubbed a dark metallic wax into the cracks. I am entering this box…

    The box

Hi crafters. When the Monday Simon says Stamp challenge was wrap it up, I had a few ideas I didn’t get to use. This is one of them. I was watching gel press videos and they said you could print on anything. I have some plain, secondhand gift boxes, I have wanted to decorate so this was my chance. Before I used the gel press to add layers of colours, mostly with stencils. I used metallic blue, green and gold paints towards the end with more delicate stencils. I wanted to put stamping on top. I tried unicorn white pigment ink with Stampendous Textures stamps. I heat dried it. I…

    Unique

Hi crafters. This Cityscape uses the Clovis House die from Poppystamps. I cut it many times with brayer paper left from using the gel press. I glued these to the last layer which embossed windows. One was stained with distress stains and backed with gold instead of blue. The blue ones were edged with blueprint sketch. They were glued in rows, with the front row popped up. The sentiment is from Hero Arts March my monthly hero kit and stamped with unicorn white ink. The paper is textured and I stamped a few times and then used a blue gel pen where it wasn’t clear. I am entering this card…

    It’s time

Hi crafters. I decided to do another cityscape with the Concord and 9th City stacks. I thought I’d do simple buildings and wild sky. I may have gone too far, but it’s all an experiment. I started with a page from a Japanese book. I stamped some texture stamps on it, then rubbed on some gesso. I applied some texture paste with homemade stencils cut from dies ( penny black – punchinella and Sizzix – birds and stars). I applied some distress stains and spritzed, then added some more. I applied Prima stamps in archival ink ( seamstress, Messy and read to me). Then more stains. I rubbed brushed pewter…
