    Merry Everything

Hi crafters. A non-traditional CAS Christmas card today. I based the colours on the current MFT Color challenge 106. I mixed distress reinkers and stains with texture paste and applied it through the MFT geometric grid stencil onto a kraft card base. I Swiped Viva modellier creme in gold between the 2 colours. I didn’t quite get the right persimmon colour at the top but with gold on it, it turned persimmon :-). The pastes dried a bit lighter in colour. The sentiment is from MFT Jingle all the way Stamp set in Versafine Clair acorn. I added a gold glitter line top and bottom with Ranger gold tinsel embossing…

    Wavy greetings

Hi crafters. I made another Christmas card with Reverse confetti dies and added gold for the Simon says Stamp challenge. I cut pattern paper and gold painted paper with Doin’ the wave die. I applied these direct to a card base which had many strips of double sided tape on it. I trimmed it with the guillotine. I added some gold trim and a sentiment cut from the Give Thanks label dies and the Happy pretty panel die. I stamped “Christmas ” from Kaisercraft underneath and adhered it with foam tape. I put some Nuovo crystal glaze over the Happy. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon…

    Gold jingling

Hi crafters. This card looks simple but there were some failures along the way.  I made a panel with red distress stains but the foiled sentiment didn’t work and I had no more of the cardstock I had used. I tried again with some red cardstock and sprayed it with Distress resist spray, then put gold foil on top and ran it through the Minc machine on 3 with no transfer folder. The sentiment is a combination of The Cat’s Pajamas Keep calm stamps with a stencil of jingle made from Reverse Confetti Jingle all the way die. I initially just cut the stencil from paper but later did it…

    Smile shaker

Hi crafters. Still doing MFT challenges. I’ve been thinking about this card for a few days. Just before I started, I realised this would fit the sketch challenge as well if I gave it a minor tweak. I started by cutting the MFT smile die 475 from brown cardstock and an extra backing piece from neutral MFT chevron paper. I stamped images from Sketched Blooms 2 directly onto the card base as well as the neutral paper. I stamped the flower and leaves onto persimmon and green chevron paper and cut them out. I edged these with black marker then paper pieced them onto the stamped images. I filled any…

    Kraft thanks

Hi crafters. I wanted to try the Ken Oliver liquid metals on kraft. I started with the Artplorations tribal triangles stencil direct to a thick kraft card base. I masked it in the centre and added crackle texture paste. I remasked the area when it was dry and added the liquid metal colours. I finished the card with a stacked Lawn Fawn Thanks line border die. The shine of the liquid metals shows on the kraft but the colours are subtle on the kraft. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Thanks/ Thanksgiving Stamplorations Giving Thanks Stamplorations Never ending anything goes challenge. Stamplorations…

    Congrats

Hi crafters. I recently bought some Ken Oliver liquid metals in the MFT sale. I thought I’d try them out in a card for the MFT Color Challenge 105. I used the MFT geometric grid stencil and masked off an area in centre of the panel. I applied crackle texture paste and let it dry. I remasked it slightly outside the paste and applied the liquid metallics in persimmon and green colours with a wet brush. I mixed the two colours to get a brown. Where the more diluted colours mix there are neutral shades. I flicked gold paint on the panel but later put Versamark pen over most of…

    Happy CAS

Hi crafters. I am very proud of myself today. My cards might usually be more described as wild, maybe cluttered. But today I made a proper CAS card! I made this card for the MFT Color challenge 105. I cut stars and sentiments from MFT chevron papers with the following dies: Stacking stars, Stitched star peek a boo window, Bottlecap letters, Big birthday and Happy birthday. I layered everything on 1-2 layers of cardstock. I had a lot of stars and kept rearranging them but wasn’t happy with it. I then decided to dry emboss the brown metallic cardstock layer. This is a 5×7 card so I ended up cutting…

    Scalloped greetings

Hi crafters. I’ve constructed another Christmas card. This card uses Reverse Confetti dies. I cut multiple red and white double edge scallop border strips. I stamped the white ones in Barn door with various texture stamps from Prima, Kaisercraft, Carabelle and one from the discount store. I would have used up some pattern paper but I didn’t have red and white paper. I adhered these to the card base in rows, making sure I stayed straight with the T ruler. The sentiment is the Happy pretty panels die, partially die cut, then stamped with a Kaisercraft Christmas word stamp in Versafine Clair Green oasis. I then cut this with the…

    Copper and plum thanks

Hi crafters. I decided to make another card for the blog named Hero challenge as I still had some distress oxide on photo paper pieces left. This was originally inspired by Ericka Strange’s blogpost. I cut an oval from a A6 piece of plum coloured card and dry embossed it with the Hero Arts Bold graphic confetti die. I die cut the thank you using the My monthly Hero kit from March, with copper and plum cardstock and glued these together. I am entering this card in the following challenges: A blog named Hero Color Pallete challenge Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Thanks/ Thanksgiving.

    Pink thanks

Hi crafters. This card is based around the Stamplorations Framed cherry blossom stamp. I thought it would make a good thank you card. I stamped it with Versafine onyx black and coloured it with watercolours and a waterbrush. I restamped it when I finished colouring. I added gold gel pen to the dots on the flowers. The “thank” is from Stamplorations Baa Baa and the “you” is from Impression Obsession express yourself. I added the panel over a piece of handmade paper. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Stamplorations Giving thanks. Stamplorations CAS card challenge. Stamplorations Never ending anything goes challenge.
