    Grey love.

Hi crafters. I have made a Valentines Day card with dies from Pinkfresh Studio. I used Dainty blossoms to cut flowers from some pattern paper with similar colours (though a bit lighter) to the October Pinkfresh challenge. I stacked these on scrap card and edged them with silver paint. I cut a grey panel with the Noteworthy frames die and stamped a Concord and 9th Layers of Love sentiment. (I don’t have Pinkfresh stamps yet, still waiting for the postman!). I adhered the flowers and added some silver dots with a Versamark pen. Lastly, I added a silver bow. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Pinkfresh Studio…

    Love ya!

Hi crafters. A masculine Valentine’s Day card today. This cat from The Cat’s Pajamas ( Let’s Party) always makes me smile. I put a heart in his hand and coloured him with alcohol markers. I decided to use some old backgrounds to put him on. One is black cardstock run through an embossing folder with gold wax rubbed over it. The heart was cut from a piece that had had stencils pressed onto it. I rubbed the gold wax around the heart and also over the Lawn Fawn sentiment which I cut from black scrap. I am entering this card in the following challenges: The Cat’s Pajamas #353 love challenge…

    Dimensional diamonds

Hi crafters. This card is made from Hero Arts products but can you see what the background is from? I decided to do more of a mixed media card today. I wanted to experiment with the gel press and black cardstock. I used a stencil I made in the past from the Hero Arts Bold graphic confetti die and scrap plastic. I placed it on the gel press and added a small amount of bright paint. I rolled this out a little with a brayer, lifted the stencil, then dabbed the pattern randomly onto black cardstock. I rolled the brayer and pressed the stencil on scrap paper then cleaned the…

    Blue wishes

Hi crafters. I have a card for the crafters choice challenge at A Blog named Hero. I started with the Hero Arts tropical background stencil. I applied texture paste through it onto 5×7 watercolour paper. When it was dry I sprinkled Ken Oliver Color bursts in Indigo, Terre verte and Prussian blue, as well as Lindy’s magicals Grab a guy gold. I sprayed it with water and let it dry. I then placed the stencil back on top and daubed the central parts with embossing ink and sprinkled navy and gold powders on top. I did that a couple of times. I cut down the piece with Waffleflower lacy layers…

    Fluoro flowers

Hi crafters. I made another card for the CUTplorations January challenge. See the tulle or mesh the girl on the left has? I used one of the gel press fluoro paint backgrounds and adhered CUTplorations Trendy Spring Bloom die cuts around the Miss you die cut from MFT. I then stitched tulle over the top with the sewing machine. I will enter this in the Stamplorations Never ending Anything goes challenge as well. Would it be excessive to do another one? Think I’m getting addicted to fluoro, lol!

    Seriously…

Hi crafters. I have another entry for the fluoro inspired challenge at Stamplorations. January CUTplorations challenge. I had some fun making fluoro paper for this with the gel press. I used the IKEA Mala squeeze bottle paints and just did lines back and forth in all the fluoro colours. This piece was pressed in a second time to get more layered colour. I used the CUTplorations seriously die and a bit of stamping from MFT Lava you. I will also enter the card in the Stamplorations Never ending Anything goes challenge:

    Fluoro smiles

Hi crafters. I have had fluoro running around in my head since seeing Maria’s fun cards for the Stamplorations cut challenge for January. I made a fluoro background by gluing random strips of card stock onto a cardbase. I agree with Maria, that black works so well with the fluoro. I then made my shaker window in the usual manner, which is to spend 2 minutes cutting and gluing the window, and 30min cleaning the window!! Lol. When will I learn not to rush it? The happy birthday comes from the Stamplorations Baa Baa Stamp set. The window is made from an old MFT smile die. I filled it with…

    Your direction

Hi crafters. A mixed media card with some recycled materials today. I started with a piece of cardboard which I had peeled the paper off one side. I brushed it with black chalk paint. I placed the Darkroom door large mesh stencil over that and put crackle texture paste through it. Then I used the TCW Dina Wakley mini Nancy, Emily, Polly stencil in the center. I did the figure in 2 steps so I didn’t press too hard and have it flow into the corrugations. I sprinkle Ken Oliver powders over the figure while it was wet and later over all the paste. I misted it. I also used…

    Recycled bags

Hi crafters. The last post was tags, so now it’s bags. I liked the tag on the top bag so I tried to recycle a brown bag to match. I actually did the bottom one first, then the top bag after I worked what I didn’t like about the first one. On Both bags I used a large mask from Prima #545611. I tried rolling white gesso over the mask on the bottom bag and then sprayed with stains and bronze paint. The bronze paint obscured the pattern a bit so I placed the mask back on and stamped the Carabelle collage des ronds stamp around the mask. The colours…

    Recycled tags

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is recycle something . I used some packaging and cut small tags with the Sizzix essential tags Bigz die. I used stencils and distress oxides on the ones above, do they would match the gift bags I had already made in the past. I stamped with Versafine Clair inks and glued spare diecuts and second hand sequins on. The ribbons and strings were all recycled or secondhand. The others were mainly sprayed with stains and metallic paints. I stamped these with Versafine Clair inks as well. Stamps used: Prima: Read to me, Seamstress, offset dots, messy writing. Kaisercraft: marble, oriental calligraphy Carabelle:collage…
