    Rainbow cats

Hi crafters. Gee I seem to have a few cats lately. Here’s another one. This card uses Lil inkers Cats Hugs stamps and dies. I couldn’t resist doing rainbow cats with alcohol markers. I used gold Sharpie for accents and a gold embossed sentiment. The sentiment comes from Concord and 9th Birthday stacks and Cats Hugs. I did some distress oxide blending for a background behind the cats. I sprayed it with fixative at the end to prevent oxidising. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.

    Vintage

Hi crafters. Back to the sixties again. This card uses some Judi Kins wood block stamp cubes: Organic shapes palette and Spot block cube. It’s a bit hard to get a good solid area when you can only stamp once. I stamped the large areas with wild honey, twisted citron cracked pistachio and broken china distress oxides as the oxides stamped more solidly with one press. I then went back with a dry brush and brushed ink on the images to get a more solid colour. The next layers stamped really well. The second layer was peeled paint and faded jeans. On the top there is Forrest moss, vintage photo…

    Red and grey

Hi crafters. I have an entry for the MFT Color challenge 111. I stamped images from Sketched blooms 2 in Shadow grey archival ink. I coloured the flowers with candied apple, aged mahogany and a little festive berries distress stains and a brush. I flicked a little red stain plus hickory smoke onto the panel. I added a sentiment from Essential sentiments in Versafine onyx black.

    Just chicken in

Hi crafters. I made another card for the Monday Simon says Stamp challenge: things with wheels. I was experimenting with watercolour and mirror stamping. This chicken from Technique Tuesday ( Cheeky chickens) had to be mirror stamped to ride a scooter from Rubbermoon which was going the other way. I stamped it with Acorn Versafine Clair but didn’t get a clear impression due to the texture of the watercolour paper. I stamped the scooter with Shadow Grey Archival ink. I watercoloured with a waterbrush. At the end I added some dry brush stippling to the path as well as pencil and alcohol markers. I went over the chicken’s legs with…

    Green thanks

Hi crafters. I had a lot of mandala pieces left from a previous card so I made another card for the Wednesday Simon says Stamp challenge: no stamps allowed. The Mandala maker die is from Technique Tuesday. I cut these from various colours and put them straight into zip lock bags so as not to lose pieces. I placed the mandala on fun foam and then in some Kaisercraft green paper. The sentiment is MFT twice the thanks die which I cut from green and stacked on blue diecuts so it has a subtle shadow.

    Hit the road

Hi crafters. The Monday Simon says Stamp challenge is things with wheels. I decided this might be a good opportunity to try no line colouring with Fade out ink from Ink on 3. I used stamps from Flora and Fauna’s love bug set and watercolour. I added a little pencil at the end, then a sentiment from Neat and Tangled. I placed the panel on some MFT paper. I need some more experience with watercolouring and I will try the fade out ink again next time.

    Bright birthday

Hi crafters. I’ve made another card for the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge (No stamps allowed). Things went wrong a lot on this card so it changed a bit, but it turned out OK in the end. I started with a piece of card with double sided adhesive sheet all over it. I adhered the pieces from the Technique Tuesday Mandala maker die which had been cut from various colours of card. I then tried perfect pearls on the sticky background but when I went to trim the piece the sticky adhesive layer creased and wouldn’t go flat. I ended up cutting the Mandalas off the piece and layered them…

    The chance

Hi crafters. I decided to try a new stencil and some green Paper artsy infusions for the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: No stamps allowed. I sprinkled Green man and Slime infusions along with Ken Oliver burnt orange and Yellow ochre colour bursts onto a piece of watercolour paper and sprayed with water. I dried this then smooshed in some droplets that had run into the mat. I kept doing this and adding more powders until it was enough. Then I used the Visible Image Eye contact stencil with Forrest moss distress oxide and a brush. To highlight the eye I used chalk pastels over the top. I wondered about…

    Knitted Hooray

Hi crafters. I tried the Stencil girl Cable Knit stencil yesterday. I used a blending brush with Memento London fog ink on light grey cardstock. I came back with Grey pencils and alcohol markers to add more shadow on top. I finished with Neat and Tangled, stacked Hooray Diecuts. I am entering this card in Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: No stamps allowed.

    Surprise!

Hi crafters. I’ve got another funny cat card. This cat is from Katzelkraft (mini 081). I stamped the cat on watercolour paper with Versafine onyx black and watercoloured with Arteza woodless watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. The sentiments are from Ink Road, Altenew and Anko. I layered the panel on brown cardstock. I am entering this card in The Cat’s Pajama’s Challenge #354: Furry friends.
