    Circles

Hi crafters. This abstract card is made from the other half of the paper I made for this card. The paper is a street directory page with layers of paint from the gel press, stencils and the brayer.  It was over stamped with Kaisercraft crackle stamp and heat embossed after a layer of clear gesso.  For this card I stamped circles from Katzelkraft ( cercle grunge), Kaisercraft rewind and Studio Light StampMB17.  I rubbed crayon inside the circles.  I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: playing with paint.

    Hanami Hello

Hi crafters. Still playing with paint. This time I chose the colours of the Color Throwdown challenge. I used the gel press and ended up with some coloured paper to use. I cut Kaisercraft Hanami flowers die and Technique Tuesday leaves die from the gel print as well as gold paper. I inlaid the pieces and cut a gold shadow for the leaf. I stamped a sentiment from Lil’inker Spiffy spots. I edged the card base with mitred gold washi tape. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Color Throwdown #536 Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Play with paint.

    Tropical vibes

Hi crafters. Still playing with paint. This background was a gel press print onto brown wrinkled paper with the Hero Arts long leaves stencil and one from Urban artist. I overlaid on this stenciled leaves from the Kaisercraft tropical leaves stencil. I used straight paint then paint mixed into texture paste. I used a mixture of different greens. I used the Kaisercraft tropical leaf die on top. I put crayons on these leaves and stamped them with Simon says Stamp tiny words sentiments. Finally I added a border with olive Stayz on and a tyre track stamp from the Kaisercraft mountain air stamp set. I am entering this card in;…

    For you

Hi crafters. Still playing with paint. This is a page of street directory I have been layering paint on from the gel press, stencils and the brayer. When it became a colourful jumble that I liked, I wondered about where to go next. It needed black or white to break it up so I stamped the Kaisercraft texture stamp crackle on it in Versafine onyx black after applying clear gesso. The Versafine took a while to dry so I applied black embossing powder after a while and embossed the slow drying bits. I decided to create a focal point with an outline image and chose the floral from Concord and…

    Painted birthday

Hi crafters. I was excited to see that the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge this week is playing with paint. This certainly has lots of experimenting potential. I used the gel press with acrylic paints and stencils to create this background. It uses the geometric circles stencil from Creative Expressions plus a stars stencil from Little Birdie. I stitched the gel print to blue cardstock with lime thread. To embellish the card, I put magenta and blue scraps in the Kaisercraft circles embossing folder. I then cut out the circles and rubbed the same paints lightly on top. The sentiment is from Stamplorations Baa Baa set. I am entering this…

    Gorgeous

Hi crafters. I thought the floral panel leftover from the last card would be good for the challenges at Poppy stamps and Memory Box. (It has a coloured and embossed daisy stamp from Prima with gloss gel on the flowers as I was trying to get it to look like stained glass). I cut the Poppy Stamps Curved banner frame from scrap cardstock that matched my floral piece. I embossed the background with Kaisercraft damask embossing folder. I inlaid the banner pieces after stamping the sentiment from Ink Road. I added foam tape behind the main banner piece.  I added Memory Box Mini butterflies cut from coordinating scrap. I am…

    One layer stained glass technique.

Hi crafters. I couldn’t resist another attempt at faux stained glass for the CAS mix up challenge for March. I had some ideas to experiment with, to see if I could do it with stamping rather than diecuts. I actually did it 2 different ways but I like the second one best. I used the Christine Adolph Daisy May stamp from Prima for both. For my first attempt, I stamped with fade out ink and coloured with alcohol markers. Then I painted most of the panel with crackle medium. (I like Joanna’s use of crackle accents and I was wondering if I could get a crackle with acrylic mediums). I…

    Love and hugs

Hi crafters. I had a piece of paper that I pressed the Visible Image Strobes stencil onto while making a previous card. It had been sprayed with yellow spray. I took another piece of paper and coloured it with the same yellow spray and a brush. I stamped Stamplorations Cherry blossoms stamp onto that in black and clear heat embossed. I also spattered some black paint on a piece and cut it with the leaves from CUTplorations Trendy spring bloom dies. I also cut a flourish and leaves from Poppy crafts and Tim Holtz funky florals 2. On top of the background I stamped mini star splatter from Your next…

    Stained glass

Hi crafters. I’m experimenting with the stained glass technique which is part of the CAS mix it up challenge for March. I cut The Kaisercraft texture ragged die a few times from black cardstock. I adhered one of these to a scrap of white cardstock and coloured with alcohol markers. I then adhered 2 more diecuts on top. I used a credit card and heavy gloss gel from Atelier to fill in some spaces. I wanted to frame it with the Altenew fine frames so I left the holes that would be outside the frame without gel. I actually did this step a couple of times. During my first effort…

    It’s your day

Hi crafters. I’m trying something new today. The Color Throwdown challenge #534 has an interesting colour combination so I decided to try it. I was thinking modern masculine so I started by cutting some MFT triangles from cardstock. I coloured one with a copic, one with watercolour and the big one, I ink blended carved pumpkin and spiced marmalade. I then covered them with embossing ink and then clear powder. I did this 3 times, then I stamped them with texture stamps and Versafine Clair acorn ink while the embossing was still molten. I forgot the ink wouldn’t dry properly on the shiny surface. You could just put another clear…
