    Serendipity

Hi crafters. This card started off by playing with chipboard found when tidying. I didn’t have any firm idea for how it would turn out. I cut the chipboard wth Tim Holtz Alterations Frameworks dies. This piece uses Courtyard. The chipboard is pretty thick so the die cutting machine wasn’t happy and some edges are rough but I didn’t think that mattered. I cut it up and glued it to some watercolour paper. I then put gesso on them as they were grey. It probably could be glued to any paper as the colour ends up darker where there is no gesso, so maybe it’s best to paint the whole…

    Blue party

Hi crafters. I created a scene with this cute cat from The Cat’s Pajamas Let’s Party set. I stamped him and his friend with Versafine onyx black and watercoloured then with some watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I put some wink of Stella on the sentiment, candle and flowers. I added washi tape to the sides. The envelope was stamped with images from the same set in Hero Arts unicorn white ink. I coloured them with various pencils. I am entering this card in the following challenges: The Cat’s Pajamas March challenge#355: Envie envy Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: create a scene.

    Celebrate

Hi crafters. I thought I’d try a couple of new challenges today. I was watching a video which talked about using crayons on glossy paper. I thought I’d try that with the ghosting technique from the CAS stencil challenge, but use the colours and design from the Fusion challenge. I applied water soluble crayons to the glossy paper and blended a bit with a tiny bit of water and a brush. I then used the Visible Image geometric maze stencil and removed some colour with a damp rag. I then cut it into 12 pieces to fit the Fusion sketch. I edged the pieces with gold Sharpie. I adhered the…

    Floral fantasy

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is feminine/ girly. I was inspired by the use of stencils by the design team. I started with 2 pieces of watercolour paper. One I stamped with Versafine Clair Monarch and glamorous inks and added some Ken Oliver liquid metals. I mixed some picked raspberry distress stain with texture paste then used this with 2 Kaisercraft stencils on both pieces of paper. When the paste was dry I sprinkled Violet brocade Nuvo shimmer powder plus Ken Oliver Indigo and Merlot powders, then misted. When that was dry I stamped 49 and market Bohemian damask plus Kaisercraft floral wallpaper with distress inks. I…

    Holy cow

Hi crafters. I created a card for the Simon says Stamp challenges. I started with a piece of watercolour paper and a couple of blue sprays. I put slime and green man infusions on a scrap of watercolour paper and sprayed and tilted it , the cut out a mountain. My holy cow from Rubber Moon was…

    Dreams come true

Hi crafters. I have a card for the Pinkfresh Studio March challenge. I started by stamping the image from the heart and soul stamp set with fade out ink on watercolour paper. I then watercoloured it. When it was dry I added some pencil and gel pen. I did alter the image slightly to make the leaves at the bottom into a flower, as the challenge was florals. I cut the image out with a circle die and stamped a sentiment from the same set, with cobalt archival ink. I cut a light yellow 5×7 panel and embossed it with the Spellbinders European tapestry embossing folder to add some texture.…

    Champagne birthday

Hi crafters. I created a card for the March Stamplorations CAS card challenge. I used the large Bloomdala Bliss #15 mask on ivory cardstock with champagne Viva modellier creme. When it was dry I sprayed with Heidi Swapp coral spray. After trimming to fit a square card base, I stamped the sentiment from the Baa Baa Stamp set and embossed with platinum embossing powder. I popped it up on fun foam. I am also entering this card in the Stamplorations Never ending Anything goes challenge.

    One of a kind

Hi crafters. Today I wanted to use yellow, black and white plus the Artplorations stencil faces:chic. I thought this might be good for the “unique” challenge at Time out challenges. I started with some pattern paper with little yellow stars on it and sprayed yellow through the Visible Image strobes stencil. When that was dry I sponged black soot distress ink through the Artplorations faces:chic stencil. I traced the stencil on scrap paper and cut out the hat and bodice area. I stamped Prima Messy through the hat hole and Kaisercraft blossom across the bodice. I used a Stampers Anonymous Simple sayings at the bottom. I matted it on black…

    Grungy Birthday

Hi crafters. I recently tried out some Paper artsy infusions in Green man and Slime. I think there was also some Lindy’s magicals Black Forrest. These were placed on watercolour paper and sprayed with water. When this was dry I stamped with Prima seamstress, Visible Image elemental and Katzelkraft cercle grunge stamps. I then put some Nuvo embellishment mousse through a DecoArt short circuit stencil. The happy die from Poppystamps Jumbled happy holidays was triple stacked. The birthday was black heat embossed from Stamper Anonymous Simple sayings and cut with MFT oval word windows. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.…

    Recycled Hooray

Hi crafters. When I trim the sides off panels to go on a card, I often put the strips aside. Today I sorted them by colour family and adhered the green/blue ones to a xyroned 5×7 piece of paper. I trimmed the excess off and then diecut the Neat and Tangled Hooray die from the centre. I diecut the Hooray 3 times from leftover dark blue cardstock and inlaid it into the panel. This uses scraps and the card could be tailored for any occasion. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.
