    3 colour leaf

Hi crafters. I couldn’t resist another card for the Foiled Fox Color trio challenge. I used photo paper. I smooshed on 3 distress oxides: Aged Mahogany, Vintage Photo and Wild honey. When it was dry I wiped it with a baby wipe and then stamped the Concord and 9th Lace leaf Stamp. It was a little hard to stamp on this surface. One is stamped with StazOn and one with Archival Jet Black. The StazOn was better but my pad needs reinking. The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio Classic words dies. It was cut from leftover photo paper and a black paper shadow. I spattered the background with the same…

    Party card

Hi crafters. I have an entry for The Cat’s Pajamas #357 Move it Challenge. I started with a cat from TCP Let’s Party set. I coloured him with alcohol markers and glitter gel pens. The balloons and presents are from the Concord and 9th Birthday stacks set. I wanted the outside of the card to be unassuming and the inside to be more of a party. I stamped the sentiment from The Cat’s Pajamas Keep Calm set and embossed it in gold on black paper. I adhered this to the outside of a pearlised cardbase along with some stickers. On the inside I covered it with pattern paper which has…

    Thinking of you

Hi crafters. I have made another card with the same 3 oxides: Broken China, Faded jeans and Seedless preserves. I used the Visible Image stencil called Fibres on white cardstock. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th Beautiful branches Stamp set. I am entering this card in the Foiled Fox colour trio challenge.

    3 colours

Hi crafters. I have a card for the Foiled Fox colour trio challenge. I used 3 distress oxides on photo paper: Seedless preserves, faded jeans and broken china. I turned this into a sky using the Sizzix tree line die. The sentiment from Neat and Tangled Scandinavian Prints was embossed in white.

    Bright spot

Hi crafters. I did some more colouring in ( 2 podcasts worth). The Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge is bright colours. I used the Picket Fence Circles of faith stamp and coloured it with gel pens. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th Rainbow wishes stamp set. This is the inspiration photo. I used the rainbow bright colours.

    Avocado waves

Hi crafters. I felt like colouring in and using some metallic gel pens. I grabbed some avocado coloured cardstock and embossed the Hero Arts Ocean waves Stamp with navy embossing powder. I had a 5×7 panel so I decided where the sentiment would go and stamped above and below that line. I used orange, green and 2 silver metallic gel pens. They look different on green cardstock. The sentiment is from Hero greetings Stamp set. I am entering this card in A Blog Named Hero May challenge: Celebrate

    It’s your day

Hi crafters. This one of those cards with no plan. I started with the colours and a bunch of Hero Arts products and went from there. The panel is watercolour paper with smooshed distress stains in lucky clover, evergreen bough, cracked pistachio, scattered straw, shabby shutters and a hint of tarnished brass. Over this I randomly embossed the pearl strings bold print stamp using verdigris powder. I stamped the happy birthday ( Hero greetings Stamp set) and the ocean waves bold print in the same colours to add some texture. In the centre is Bo Bunny glitter paste in Seafoam which was applied through a cardboard stencil made with the…

    Foiled flowers

Hi crafters. One more stencil card for the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Use stencils. The stencil I used is the Pretty petals stencil from Funky Fossil Designs. I thought it would be great to try the coloured foiling that Jennifer McGuire did in a recent video. I took a black square cardbase and stencilled directly on it with Atelier heavy gloss gel ( this is like thick acrylic paint without any colour). After it dried I foiled it with silver Heidi Swapp foil and coloured with alcohol markers. The cheaper markers actually gave the most opaque colour. I added gems and a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio Classic words die…

    Happy Anniversary

Hi crafters. This card was reasonably quick to do but extremely messy. I was inspired by one of Pat Huntoons’s videos and I thought the Hero Arts Tropical Background stencil would be perfect. I started by putting a piece of red cardstock through the Xyron machine. Even though I burnished the piece before I took the release paper off there were some bare bits so it helps if the cardstock matches the glitter. I placed the stencil down onto the sticky side and gently placed Mont Marte designer leaf Copper Starburst over the stencil. I pressed it in with a stiff brush. When I was happy with that and had…

    Stitched rose

Hi crafters. I decided to stitch a flower. Before I started stitching I had to create the background as I couldn’t colour it later. I sprayed a piece of cardstock with pink, red and purple sprays. Then I adhered a piece of Pellon rainbow spun. This is synthetic ( I know as I melted some 😟) and apparently has many uses. I found this gold piece at the secondhand store. I glued it over the sprayed piece and sprayed again. The spray didn’t really sit on top but shows through the fibres. I then cut this piece twice with the Paper Smooches cross stitch die (this rectangular die seems to be…
