    Stamplorations Birthday

Hi crafters. Stamplorations is having a belated birthday party. I have a birthday card for their challenge. I was experimenting with stamping on washi tape. I started stamping the circles from the Stamplorations Art Marks stamp set. I was going to cut them out but decided to do a panel instead. They are stamped with black StazOn. I didn’t have a full card front as I used some already, so I trimmed it and added it on an angle. I added a border using another stamp from the same set as well as the Happy Birthday from the Baa Baa Stamp set. I am entering the Stamplorations Celebrations challenge. Happy…

    Pinkfresh challenge

Hi crafters. I have a card for the October Pinkfresh Studio Challenge. Here is the photo: I took a piece of watercolour paper and randomly added normal and metallic watercolours in the challenge colours. I cut this with a circle die. I also cut a larger circle from black paper and a circular piece from gold paper. I layered these in an offset manner and added a black dainty blossom die cut. I adhered these to a navy cardbase along with a sentiment from the Classic words die set. Thanks for visiting, Christine

    Shiny ombré

Hi crafters. I didn’t think I did the colours justice in my last card so I made another one with the colours of the Winnie and Walter October Color combo challenge. I used Finetec metallic watercolours on watercolour paper. I was inspired by the ombré gradient of the last few colours in the palette above. When they had dried I spattered with charcoal spray and added a Winnie and Walter Celebrate cutaway. Lastly I added some dots and string. I am entering this card in following challenges: Winnie and Walter Color Combo Challenge for October. Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Fall/ Autumn colors. Happy crafting, Christine

    Collage Christmas

Hi crafters. I have a card for the Winnie and Walter Color combo challenge for October. Here is the inspiration photo: I decided to use the Winnie and Walter Into the woods stamp to make a wooden background using distress stains and inks. I used the Merry cutaway to cut 2 from red felt. I glued these together. I added some ribbon, a bead and a jingle bell. I popped the panel up on fun foam and adhered it to a green cardbase. Happy crafting, Christine

    Inspired hearts

Hi crafters. The current Paper Smooches Challenge is to be inspired by one of the design team. I chose this card by Jill Hawkins. I like the design, the stitching and the colours. I don’t have that die so I used the Paper Smooches Tiny hearts dies. I drew a spiral on some white cardstock and then die cut the hearts along that. I decided to use the arrow as well and have that point toward the ‘you’. The hearts were coloured with alcohol markers. I stitched the panel to an orange cardbase with orange thread. My machine plays up if I stitch through any adhesive, but I wanted to…

    Autumn leaves

Hi crafters. I have a card for the Memory Box Challenge: Falling leaves. I diecut the Memory Box Birds and Blossoms die plus some extra branches. The branches were painted with a mixture of silver and Payne’s grey acrylic paint. The bird, flowers and leaves were painted with Finetec watercolours. The frame was turned into a shaker. The background was made from a watercoloured panel with an acrylic wash over it. A circle of acetate water glued behind the frame. The extra branches were glued onto the background and foam tape was added to the circle frame. Sequins from Neat and Tangled were added before it was sealed. The background…

    Rainbows and Unicorns

Hi crafters. I couldn’t resist using some Julie Ebersole stamps for the Less is More Challenge. I started by diecutting The Stamp Market dotted rainbow die twice. I extended the lines with a pokey tool and a ruler. I stamped the sentiment from Pure Magic in Versafine onyx black and the unicorn from Unicorns and Rainbows in grey. I coloured the unicorn and fart in glitter glue and pearlised purple acrylic. I added some glitter gel pen to the unicorn. I put a little glitter glue over the rainbow as well. The rainbow was stitched in bright cotton threads. I am entering this card in the Less is More #406…

    Creepy hugs

Hi crafters. As I mentioned in the last post, I found a bag of embroidered bugs at the secondhand shop. It contained this tarantula which I thought I could use in Halloween challenges. I made a background for him by embossing a piece of kraft cardstock with the Kaisercraft wood grain embossing folder which had been inked with ground espresso distress ink. I did that a couple of times to get a 5×7 panel as the spider is huge. I rubbed distress ink cubes over the raised sections and then attached scrap threads into a cobweb pattern. I glued the spider down and added a sentiment from the Hero Arts…

    Bugs and kisses

Hi crafters. This card started with a piece of watercolour paper onto which I stencilled leftover texture paste in pink and purple with the Funky Fossil micro dots stencil. I thought I could use it in the Simon says Stamp All things pink challenge. I added a wash of pink watercolour. I found some secondhand embroidered bugs the other day and this one had the same pinks in it. I made a border around the watercoloured panel with teal and metallic threads to match the bug. I cut some platinum vellum with Kaisercraft leaf dies and coloured these roughly with an alcohol marker. I added the panel onto a teal…

    Pink Hey

Hi crafters. This card started with some dressmaking pattern paper. I covered that with gesso. I added texture paste that had been mixed with black paint and glitter, through a stencil that just has Splat on it. There is also some pink chalk paint which was applied through the Funky Fossil micro dots stencil. I added a couple of spray stains and powders. There is some stamping with Kaisercraft stamp 36 and Prima messy. I decided to use some secondhand chipboard letters as the sentiment and coloured them with a pink sharpie. I separated them from the background with layers of black and pink tulle as well as black Stamplorations…
