    Rusted stencilling

Hi crafters. Today’s card uses some newly acquired stencils, paints and a paste. I started with watercolour paper and the Savvy and Stackers stencils from Paper Smooches. I roughly put some Nuvo expanding mousse in worn linen through the stencils and heated it to puff it up. I coated the surface in clear gesso and added Infusions and Color Burst powders. I misted these and added layers. It wasn’t intense enough so I added distress stains and Arteza marker on top. I also added some Prima Metallique paints in Dark Forest and Green Olive. I rubbed on some Faber Castell copper paste and added copper embossing. There is also some…

    Monster birthday

Hi crafters. This card uses stencils from Paper Smooches called Savvy Stencil and Stackers stencil. The panel was created on photo paper as an experiment so it is a bit glossy. I blended Catherine Pooler lemongrass and Lime Rickey for the ground with the Savvy stencil and blues and greens to make balloons with the Stackers stencil. I cut the cute monster from some scraps and glued him down before drawing strings with a Copic multiliner. The sentiment comes from the Paper Smooches Birthday sampler stamp set. I used some of the tiny dies in the Monster die set to cut a scrap of blue acetate for some confetti. I…

    Floral shaker

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge is fun with florals. I thought I’d make a shaker using Paper Smooches Mini flower dies and bright scraps. I used the MFT stitched rounded square frames dies. The background was stamped in Catherine Pooler Flirty Fuchsia with stamps from the Kaisercraft Magenta and The Stamp Market Ready to bloom stamp sets. The sentiment is also from the Kaisercraft Magenta set. Thanks for visiting, Christine

    Blue and coral

Hi crafters. I have a card for the current Less is More #410 Challenge. The blue is cheap acrylic paint I had that was just the right shade. I put some on an old credit card an swiped it across. I cut through the paint with 2 of the recent Paper Smooches stitch builder dies so that there were 5 rows of holes. I sewed the paper with coral thread. The sentiment from Paper Smooches was stamped in Catherine Pooler Tutti Frutti. Thanks for visiting, Christine

    Beaded card

Hi crafters. It’s been a while since I did a stitched card so I decided to use a recently acquired die from Lil Inkers. The Pointelle cover die has holes in hexagon shapes covering it. I cut it twice to cover a 5×7 card and sprayed this cardstock blue/purple. I layered over that blue tulle and green and teal sheer fabrics. I sewed through these incorporating beads as I went. I held the layers together with bulldog clips. I slashed the fabric in between and helped it curl back with a heat gun. In the past when I’ve tried this the fabrics stuck out more than this time. It might…

    Sparkly gold

Hi crafters. I have a sparkly card for the A Blog Named Hero challenge. The theme is sparkle. I took the Hero Arts long leaves stencil and added embossing ink with a dauber to alternate strands. I added gold tinsel embossing powder to this. The embossing ink had oozed underneath a bit so later I touched it up with an alcohol marker. I applied Viva modellier creme in gold to the other strands and sprinkled black glitter on it while it was wet. I wanted a 5×7 card so I cut the panel horizontally and slipped some black cardstock with a gold embossed sentiment from the Hero Greetings Occasions Stamp…
