    Rainbow glitter

Hi crafters. I needed a rainbow card for a birthday. After doing custom glittering on a recent card, I decided to do a rainbow glitter card. I cut some black cardstock and applied Couture Creations Die Cut and Bond ( wide roll double sided tape) to it. I peeled the backing off the adhesive at an angle and added red glitter, burnishing it in. I don’t have fine orange glitter so I used chunky. I continued exposing just a section at a time, and adding the next colour. It is super glittery. I decided to put just the letter A on the card. I cut it from holographic cardstock, which…

    New baby

Hi crafters. This card celebrates the arrival of a new baby. I used a cute stamp set from Elizabeth Crafts and did some masking so the baby is tucked under a wing. The image was coloured with watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I used similar colours to the packaging. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th ( City Stacks) plus handwritten to match. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Celebrate. Happy crafting, Christine

    12

Hi crafters. I had a stained piece of book paper which I decided to use for this card. I added some stencilling to it. The top layer of stencilling used a Stencil Girl stencil and some Dina Wakley white gloss spray which gives a lot of shine. I decided to glitter up a balloon with the same stencil ( S798 Borloz) by cutting the cardstock with Die Cut and Bond double-sided adhesive on one side. I placed the stencil down and rubbed in fine silver glitter. I burnished it in with a bone folder and then removed the stencil. I repeated with fine green glitter. The stencil pattern has a…

    Time to celebrate

Hi crafters. The background for this card is stained and gel printed canvas paper. I did some stencilling on top ( the white stencilling uses a stencil from Stencil Girl). I used the Simon says Stamp Burst die behind the ladies. The top Burst layer is alcohol ink coloured, silver, Christmas cracker, glitter cardstock. The sentiment is a hot foiled Spellbinders sentiment from More Sentiments. A Tim Holtz paper doll finishes it off. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Celebrate Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Sparkle and shine Thanks for visiting, Christine

    Celebrate the little things

Hi crafters. The challenge at Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is celebrate. My card celebrates getting through each day. The wonderful stamp is Celeste from Art Impressions and the fabulous sentiment is from Impression Obsession. I used some pattern paper, Stickles and a scrap of upholstery fabric which I rubbed wilted violet stain onto ( it seems to have soaked in). Surviving the holidays and 2020 deserves a celebration. Merry Christmas everyone. Christine

    Stencilling

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is: Favorite Technique. This card features stencilling. It is harder to make cards at the moment. I find it easier to get started if I pick up something in the craft zone and try to use it. The background for this card had strips of scraps adhered to it. I tried to unify it by stencilling on top. I didn’t think it worked so I stencilled some more layers on top. By then it was too busy, so I rubbed white paint on top. I took another piece of teal paper with stencilling and drew some hair for a Tallulah die cut…

Recycled sprays and a grungy cupcake

Hi Crafters. I do like sprays. When my old printer died, I was left with lots of ink. I filled mini misters with the 3 primary colours of ink with a syringe. I then mixed secondary colours in 3 more misters. I tested them on some paper in the spray box. That is the background paper for this card. I also misted with a bit of water so the inks would merge. As the paper was already grungy I decided to go with that. I stamped the Darkroom Door cupcake stamp on a scrap of shimmery paper and added some glittery nail polish to the frosting. The Concord and 9th…

    Layered discs

Hi crafters. This weeks Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is: Favourite Technique. I like diecut cards. I’m hoping that counts as a technique. This card started with background which was paper from cleaning up during gel printing. I found scraps in the same colours and cut some circles. The larger circles were cut with a 1.75 inch punch. The rings and the layer beneath them, were cut with the Simon says Stamp Geometric Builder circles dies. I also added extra layers of scrap cardstock to make them more dimensional. I was going to add a diecut sentiment when I remembered an old Kaisercraft stamp set with a circular sentiment. This…

    Alcohol ink stencilling

Hi crafters. I had this alcohol ink background which I decided to experiment on. I placed a mandala stencil on top and dabbed through the holes with a rag damp with alcohol. The ink included a pearl mixative. The areas where I removed ink developed a pearly halo. I added a layered a Pinkfresh Studio sentiment. I probably should have tried a stencil with a different amount of open area so the pattern in the alcohol ink shows better. You can see it better here where it is tilted into the light. I am entering this card in Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Focus on alcohol inks. Thanks for visiting,…
