    Still rolling

Hi crafters. I had to use the Art by Marlene BM12 stamp for the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge which is: We’re on a roll. I stamped it on a piece of gel press paper in Versafine onyx black and clear embossed it. I didn’t want a straight top edge so I also stamped some small stamps from the Uniquely Creative Circle Clusters stamp set. I put some Golden Quinacridone red, high flow acrylic paint into a Langridge refillable marker and coloured some parts of the image. I wanted the sentiment to fit with the stamped circles so I cut a lopsided frame and some numbers from black cardboard. I…

    On a roll

Hi crafters, I had foil waste from this card. I placed it over the toner paper I had made and foiled it in the Minc machine. I cut it with a circle die which shifted a bit while cutting so it’s a little cut off – but it’s a handmade card! I found a gel print in green and adhered that to a green card base. When I was wondering where to put my sentiment, I spied some leftover circles which had been cut with the Simon says Stamp Geometric Builder Circles dies. I stacked the smaller ones and glued them on. I am entering this card in the Simon…

    Landscape foiling 3

Hi crafters, I used the foil waste from the last card, on this one. The waste comes from foiling a high contrast, laser photocopy of an aerial landscape photo. For this card, I photocopied black paper onto white cardstock to get toner cardstock. I placed my teal waste foil over it and ran it through the Minc machine. I then placed gold foil over this and foiled again. The remaining exposed toner is then foiled gold. I cut this piece down and adhered it with black paper underneath. The sentiment is from Lil Inkers and is raised on black foam strips. The teal comes out blue in the photo above,…

    More landscape foiling

Hi crafters, I used the other half of my laser printed, high contrast, aerial landscape photocopy (See last card). I sprayed the piece with green and blue inks and then foiled with Heidi Swapp teal foil. The photo doesn’t capture the colour and shine very well. I used green Hotfoil for the sentiment, along with the Spellbinders Stylish script Thank you and Happy birthday glimmer plate. I foiled the circle with a Hero Arts infinity die, upside down. It foiled a little patchy, as I wasn’t adding a lot of shims, as I was worried about it cutting into the foiling apparatus. I am entering this card in the following…

    Silver foiling

Hi crafters. I was going through magazines for images to craft with when I found an aerial landscape photo. I thought it had a great pattern, a bit like wood grain. I adjusted the contrast on my black and white laser printer and copied it onto some white cardstock. I did high contrast so it was just black and white and not much grey. I cut a card sized piece and blended Pinkfresh Coral reef and The Stamp Market Melon and Citrine inks onto it. I then put it through the Minc machine with silver toner foil. (I used Heidi Swapp but Decofoil, Brutus Monroe or Fab foil would work…

    New and old

Hi crafters. This journal page uses new and old things. The book is a 2021 diary/planner I was given, with a purple, embossed, leather cover and gold on the edges of the pages. It is lovely but I don’t write in diaries as they create an extra job to do. But I don’t mind journals, so I turned it into a journal. I have collaged scraps, unused diecuts, old book paper onto this page. It felt good to tidy up the unused bits that seem to accumulate. I applied white gesso and off white paint to the page before adding more texture with a Kaisercraft stencil and some texture paste.…

    Gel print celebration

Hi crafters. I did some gel printing recently and have been working out what to do with them. This rainbow print needed something so I used the Simon says Stamp Geo leaves stencil with some texture paste. In the light areas the texture paste wasn’t standing out so I put the stencil back on top and partially scraped over some Champagne Viva Modellier Creme. This made the stencilling partly shiny and much more visible. The celebrate is from the Sizzix balloon and phrase die. I cut the word from blue and purple cardstock as well as circles from the same card stocks. I ended up coating the purple circle in…
