Hi crafters. More stars. This time messier but with colour. I looked for something to start on and found this paper with blue green and purple colours on it. I stencilled some crackle paste on it with a stencil made from the Tim Holtz birds and stars die.
Then I added some WOW gold sparkle embossing powder. I heated it when the past was dry. The paste didn’t crack but maybe I just can’t see cracks with the molten gold on top. I then tried to add a few more stars in the centre with the stencil and gold acrylic paint. The paint oozed a lot so instead I rubbed the gold paint in various places with my finger. I then applied lots of blue, green and purple distress stain colours. I later added a bit more chipped sapphire to the edges.
I decided to have a sentiment on a star and cover a bit I didn’t like. I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Lucky Stars Stamp set and embossed it with SSS gold powder. I rubbed some blue paint on the points and poured blue chunky glitter on. The paint was drying pretty quickly. To add more glitter, I painted on gold glitter paint and dropped more blue and green glitter on that.
The paper was warped and had shrunk in places from the paste, so when I trimmed it and went to glue it wrinkles were unavoidable. I probably wouldn’t smear the gold paint next time. Maybe something less messy ;-). But at least they know it’s handmade.
I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Starry night.
