Hi crafters. I recently bought some Ken Oliver liquid metals in the MFT sale. I thought I’d try them out in a card for the MFT Color Challenge 105. I used the MFT geometric grid stencil and masked off an area in centre of the panel. I applied crackle texture paste and let it dry. I remasked it slightly outside the paste and applied the liquid metallics in persimmon and green colours with a wet brush. I mixed the two colours to get a brown. Where the more diluted colours mix there are neutral shades. I flicked gold paint on the panel but later put Versamark pen over most of the specks and embossed with platinum embossing powder as it complimented the sheen of the paints better. I also drew a border with the Versamark pen and embossed that in platinum as well. I tried various colour combinations for the sentiment but opted for a stacked white MFT congrats die cut. The panel was a bit warped from the paste and watercolours, and even through I left it with books on it overnight, it wrinkled when I stuck it to a card. I cut the main area out and glued that to a fresh card. The shine from the paints looks great with the stencil.
