Hi crafters. A mixed media card with some recycled materials today. I started with a piece of cardboard which I had peeled the paper off one side. I brushed it with black chalk paint. I placed the Darkroom door large mesh stencil over that and put crackle texture paste through it. Then I used the TCW Dina Wakley mini Nancy, Emily, Polly stencil in the center. I did the figure in 2 steps so I didn’t press too hard and have it flow into the corrugations. I sprinkle Ken Oliver powders over the figure while it was wet and later over all the paste. I misted it. I also used Lindy’s magicals Grab a guy gold on the figure and after misting you can see gold in the corrugations. I added red and purple sprays to the outside to intensify the colour. I did some stamping with Prima messy stamp onto the dry paste. I used a Versamark pen around the figure. I used Simon says Stamp gold embossing powder on that and let it stick in the background as well. The sentiment is from a secondhand Dymo I found. (Second hand is recycled, right?)
I like the way the cardboard looks like wood with the paint streaks. I wasn’t sure how stencilling on corrugated cardboard would go, but if you are gentle it can be done.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
