Hi crafters. I decided to stitch a flower. Before I started stitching I had to create the background as I couldn’t colour it later. I sprayed a piece of cardstock with pink, red and purple sprays. Then I adhered a piece of Pellon rainbow spun. This is synthetic ( I know as I melted some 😟) and apparently has many uses. I found this gold piece at the secondhand store. I glued it over the sprayed piece and sprayed again. The spray didn’t really sit on top but shows through the fibres. I then cut this piece twice with the Paper Smooches cross stitch die (this rectangular die seems to be discontinued but the square one is here) to make a large enough stitching area. I found a cross stitch Rose pattern that would fit on a card and started. I ended up redoing 2 colours as the shade didn’t seem right. The stem was just sewed without a pattern and I added extra holes with a stitch unpicker . After the sewing I reglued the Pellon as the handling had loosened some glue. I then stitched the panel to red cardstock and added a layered sentiment from the Paper Smooches sorry die.
