Hi crafters. This one of those cards with no plan. I started with the colours and a bunch of Hero Arts products and went from there. The panel is watercolour paper with smooshed distress stains in lucky clover, evergreen bough, cracked pistachio, scattered straw, shabby shutters and a hint of tarnished brass. Over this I randomly embossed the pearl strings bold print stamp using verdigris powder. I stamped the happy birthday ( Hero greetings Stamp set) and the ocean waves bold print in the same colours to add some texture. In the centre is Bo Bunny glitter paste in Seafoam which was applied through a cardboard stencil made with the cloudy moon fancy die. I sewed a border with 2 threads. At this point I didn’t like it and left it for a day. I decided it would probably not be a good idea to introduce new patterns so I cut the cloudy moon fancy die from scraps and coloured them with the same stains. I then painted them with a mixture of green and gold glitter paint (which is translucent). This tied them in with the centre better. I edged them with a teal water-soluble crayon. I stamped the greeting from Hero greetings and embossed it in gold onto vellum. I matted the piece on yellow cardstock. When it isn’t working, sleeping on it and keeping going usually works.
I am entering this card in the challenge at A Blog Named Hero which for May is Celebrate.
