Birthday wishes

Hi crafters, I’m experimenting with a variation of the technique Shari Carroll did this week. I decided to try something similar but with distress stains.

I took some watercolour paper cut to size. I dabbed distress stain daubers on the end of a gift card and dragged them across the paper and wiped them off the gift card onto the paper. I used lots of greens and blues. I didn’t put very much on at a time.

I then spattered with some water with perfect pearls in it ( plus accidentally poured some in the middle). After it was dry I stamped the sentiment from the 2018 March My Hero kit on the card in black plus Versafine Clair Warm breeze.

I decided it needed something else so I took my T-ruler and painted a border with Atelier heavy gel gloss medium, then when that was dry I foiled it with Minc Teal foil. The texture of the watercolour paper means the foil line is a bit rough but you could easily do this on ordinary smooth cardstock then the foiled line would be more solid.

I put some white gel pen on the ‘for’ and ‘you’.

I am entering this card in these challenges:
