Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge theme is vacation. This made me think travel. I started by collaging an atlas map, a piece of street directory and a picture from a brochure onto a piece of card and gave it a wash of white gesso. I stamped the Darkroom Door world map, Kaiercraft background postmarks, and various second hand wood block stamps onto tissue paper. I tore these apart and added them over the maps. I gessoed this too. I then added distress stains. These weren’t drying completely so I sealed them with matt medium then added more colour with water soluble crayons. I die cut the letters into the panel to fit with the Mix it up challenge which has optional die inlay. I used Concord and 9th double cut letters and Sizzix Alphanumeric cutout lower dies. The panel was thick and the pressure of diecutting caused half of the letters to stick to the metal die. (Maybe I should have waited longer for the matt medium to dry. It felt dry.). After spending an hour cleaning out the dies, I stamped the same images as on the tissue paper, onto some card and coloured these to match the original. I inlaid these new letters.

It is not everyday that I get an opportunity to use my pyramid stamp! 😀
