Hi crafters. This card was inspired by Nikki’s guest designer cards for the SSS Monday tape challenge. She used a gelli plate to make patterns which were then picked up with clear packing tape. I used some metallic acrylic paints on the gel press. I then added some blue stamping with MFT lined up dots background, as well as silver acrylic stamping of snowflakes and a joy stamp.
I laid the packing tape over the plate and after picking it up, poured a mixed glitter on any remaining sticky bits. The strips were the adhered to light blue cardstock with matt medium.
I decided to cut the Tim Holtz Flurry 2 and Kaisercraft Word baubles dies from the taped piece. From the scraps I punched some small snowflakes. On a mint card base I applied texture paste with acrylic paint in it, through a Paper Mill river stencil. I sprinkled some silver glitter on the paste before it dried. I glued the elements onto the card base and added gems to the smaller snowflakes. I added some silver paint around the Joy. The tape has a very interesting look to it. It is very shiny on top but the shimmer and sparkle from the paint and glitter show through as well.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Tape it up.
Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.
Simon says Stamp Christmas card day challenge.
