CAS stains

Hi crafters. I’ve been playing with this stamp as I thought it would be great for a CAS Christmas card. I’ve tried putting Karin and Arteza markers on it, I’ve tried putting Ken Oliver liquid metals and pigment powders on it, but this one with stains turned out the best. I don’t know the name or brand of this stamp as I got it second hand. If anyone knows can you leave a comment. It reminds me of Hero Arts ‘Clings’ as it is red rubber with a thick plastic layer on the cling side.

For this card, I dabbed Distress stain daubers in Festive Berries, Candied Apple, Seedless Preserves and Gathered Twigs onto the stamp and then pressed it into the paper. I did this a few times until the area was pretty covered but still had some texture. For the sentiment I used Block Party Alpha Outline stamps from Ink Road and dabbed these with the same stains. I wanted the sentiment to be aligned with the edges of the image. There wasn’t much room left so I inserted some Sizzix gold glitter cardstock letters to match my diecut star.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

CAS Christmas Challenge September: Christmas Trees

Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Use your favourite stamp. I’m a bit fickle. My favourite stamp is the one I’ve just used! This one has been used 3 times this week so it is the current favourite.

Happy crafting,

Christine.
