Card makeover

Hi crafters. Before I discovered Simon says Stamp and card competitions, I made a card. I had stamped the background with Neat and Tangled Flower Medallion Builder and Memento inks. I liked the background but ripped off what I had on top. There it sat, in the pile of backgrounds, unused. But today I decided to do a make over. Here is the before (with powder on it before I started embossing).

It has tears and glue blobs.

I started by embossing all the inside portions with Ranger platinum embossing powder. I touched up where the paper had been ripped off by partial stamping with the original ink colours. I saw the Simon says Stamp You and Me Stamp set on the desk and used the border from that. I combined a sentiment from that with some from the Flower Medallion set and stamped on vellum and clear heat embossed it. I felt the vellum needed something, so I found some silver stickers strips and coloured these platinum by going over them with a bronze sharpie. I also coloured some rhinestones with the sharpie and used these to cover some glue blobs and defects. What do you think? I don’t think anyone will know this card had a rough life.

I am entering this card in the Neat and Tangled Stamptember competition at the Simon says Stamp blog.

I am also entering the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Bling it on!
