    Great chevrons

Hi crafters. I’m experimenting with Sugar Pea designs dies today as there is a competition on the Simon says Stamp blog for Stamptember. I wanted to make a card which could be masculine. I cut the Arrow cover plate die from some Kaisercraft paper. I had the idea to watercolour the chevrons. I ended up taking a piece of Bristol smooth and putting distress stains where the holes would be. I then added details with Prima Read to me and Seamstress stamps. I then decided to add a gold border. I tried metallic leaf but it didn’t match so I peeled it off and added more thin double sided tape…

    Stars – again

Hi crafters. I have done a card very similar to this but I wasn’t happy with some of the outcomes in that experiment, so this is a second attempt. The cute sentiment from the Lawn Fawn lucky stars wasn’t as clear or sparkly as I would have liked the last time. I took another gel press print and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Twilight and clear heat embossed it. Then I went over that with a zig glue pen which is easier to do when it’s raised. I sprinkled that with blue glitter. To get more prominent, sparkly stars, I took a stencil made from the Sizzix stars and…

    Dream

Hi crafters. I have another entry in the Lawn Fawn competition at Simon says Stamp. I used another gel press print and the Dream stamp set. I stamped the feathers in Versafine Clair Monarch as well as the sentiment. I added details to the inside of the feathers with gel pen and alcohol markers. The glitter sticking to the stamping in the last card made me want to experiment with a better way to get glitter onto the stamping. I put some Multi medium Matt on an acrylic block and flattened it out, then ‘inked’ the feather stamps in it and re-stamped them. I did a couple at a time…

    Wild air

Hi crafters. Another gel press experiment. The initial layer was distress stains in brown, then a print of TCW mini believe stencil in distress oxide vintage photo. The green layer was from applying paint to the stencil and putting the paper on the stencil. The stencil was Donna Downey Sprout. I then added white gel pen and black Pitt pen. The sentiment is from Simon says Stamp One with Nature. Black marker to edges. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.

    A tangle in tulle

Hi crafters. Experimenting again. Definitely not CAS! Lol. This card started as a gel press experiment and then took on a life of its own. The first layer had gold paints so there is a sparkle in the light. The outer black layer was done with black paint and Stampendous Industrial Stamp. The black turned out a bit heavy so I decided to put Neat and Tangled Hexastar cover plate on top. ( That was partial die cut twice to extend it for 5×7 card). I decided to use ‘dream’ from the Sizzix Sentiments 662668 die and cut pieces out of the cover plate to fit the sentiment. Impression Obsession…
