    Rose coloured glasses

Hi crafters. This journal page started with gesso and collaged pink tissue paper. I added texture paste through a botanical stencil which I cut from packaging. There are also some dots using another home made stencil. I stamped a Penny Black text stamp with Glorious Versafine Clair on top and added Lindy’s Magicals in Autumn Maple crimson and misted. The lady was cut from a postcard. There is also some soluble graphite pencil. I stamped the title with some Typo alphabet stamps. I was just experimenting with the stencils and a monochrome theme. I am entering this over at Simon says Stamp Monday challenge which is not a card. Happy…

    Paper Men

Hi crafters. A little while ago people like Megan Whisner Quinlan and Wendy Solganik were making paper dolls as collage fodder. Then I saw them in a book Stamp! (Quarry books 2004), so this has been around a while but I missed it. I decided to make some mixed media men with a painty piece of book paper. I slapped a bit of paint and acrylic ink on and stamped the AALL The Gentlemen on top with StazOn ink. Then used gel pen, paint, washi and paint pens to give them arms, bodies and some marks. I will probably use them in journals or cards in the future. I am…

    Happy Dance

Hi crafters. I’m a bit fond of Art Impressions’ oldies. This fun lady is Millie. I want to know what she’s taking, as I need some of that energy! 😁 I coloured her with alcohol markers. I placed her on a busy gel print, and sponged some unicorn white pigment ink behind her to help her stand out. I put a little gloss over the movement lines as well. The sentiment comes from Art Impressions Be Happy stamp set. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is Happy Birthday. Happy crafting, Christine

    Hip hip hooray

Hi crafters. I used up more watercolour paint from a palette, to paint some more leaves from the Simon says Stamp Be Kind stamp set. The sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti Boxes ‘n balloons stamp set. Some branches have an extra layer of cardstock behind them, and the sentiment is on some foam. I placed a small piece of wood shelf liner behind the branches and added a few small white sequins. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Layer it Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Happy Birthday Thanks for visiting, Christine

    Foliage birthday

Hi crafters. I have a card for a couple of challenges. The watercoloured foliage in this card was inspired by this card by Debby Hughes. I love those muted, watercoloured leaves. I had this deep blue/grey watercolour in a palette, so I decided to use that to watercolour some leaves from the Simon says Stamp Be Kind stamp set. I stamped in light grey and added a few layers of watercolour and then diecut the branches. These were added to a panel of Vicki Boutin paper and a cream oval that I embossed with the Tim Holtz Intertwined embossing folder that had grey ink on it. I tucked some Pinkfresh…

    Happy anniversary

Hi crafters. I made a card for the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge which is layer it. I stamped a Lost Coast Designs stamp on some paper that had previously had layers of gesso and metallic paints applied to it. I coloured the images a little with some gel pens. This was layered onto 2 layers of cardstock and then 2 layers of pattern paper. I added some brown stitching to the lower layer of pattern paper. The bottom layer is corrugated cardboard that I put a few layers of paint onto, so it would look like rusty corrugated metal. The main Stamplorations sentiment is also layered. The “25th” is…

    Pink and navy

Hi crafters. I was inspired by Maria’s beautiful card to try the Stamplorations CAS cards April challenge which has a pale pink and navy theme. I started by lightly sponging pale pink ink through the Artplorations Amaranth stencil, directly onto a white cardbase. I stencilled white paint through the Artplorations Tribal triangles stencil onto a scrap of navy cardstock. I tore the top edge and stamped and embossed a sentiment using a woodblock stamp. I added some navy gel pen dots to the pink stencilling. The pink and navy is a very soothing combination, don’t you think? I am also entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge…
