Hi crafters. I’m trying something new today. The Color Throwdown challenge #534 has an interesting colour combination so I decided to try it.
I was thinking modern masculine so I started by cutting some MFT triangles from cardstock. I coloured one with a copic, one with watercolour and the big one, I ink blended carved pumpkin and spiced marmalade. I then covered them with embossing ink and then clear powder. I did this 3 times, then I stamped them with texture stamps and Versafine Clair acorn ink while the embossing was still molten. I forgot the ink wouldn’t dry properly on the shiny surface. You could just put another clear coat over the top but you would lose the surface texture. I actually put clear acrylic gloss varnish on top later. The background is watercolour paper with texture paste tinted with acrylic paints through a Deco Art stencil. The sentiment was also stamped in Acorn ink and comes from Concord and 9th Birthday stacks. I stitched around the outside of the panel with brown thread. The stamps I used to press into the molten embossing powder were: Flora and Fauna texture five stamp, MFT make your mark and Impression Obsession graduation. I rummaged around and found a plastic bead as an embellishment.
