Metallic bird

Hi crafters. I have been experimenting with layered stamping and heat embossing. This is the technique for the April CAS mix up challenge. I used the following techniques: stamping, heat embossing, diecutting and watercolouring.

I decided to do embossing like one would use water based markers to colour a stamp. I decided to use the Darkroom Door robin Stamp. This is not a layering stamp. It is a single image. I started by embossing the bird with platinum embossing powder. With a Versamark pen applied to the stamp, I selectively added black, gold, bronze and copper powders. Towards the end I added the pen directly to the image and filled in blank bits and a bit of shading.

I also used a stamp from Stampendous industrial to add bronze speckles to the ground. I added watercolour over this. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Simple sayings. I diecut the panel and popped it up on fun foam.

I am also entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.

OMG, this is amazing! Your layered stamping with heat-embossing is simply gorgeous! You used a Versamark pen and layered embossing a little by little to make the robin. The color, texture, and shine of embossing is so beautiful and interesting.
