Foiled rose.

Hi crafters,I’m back with another card from my foiling experiments. This one uses a Hero arts rose stamp, Minc reactive paint and pink Fab foil. I could have been more thorough applying the reactive paint but the rose is still gorgeous in pink foil. The sentiment comes with the rose stamp.

I started by choosing pink and purple Arteza real brush pens to colour it with a water brush. I kept it soft as the foil is the star. After colouring I put it back in the stamping tool and selectively restamped bits with Versafine Clair glamorous to make up for missing foil. I noted while doing this, that the stamp sticks to the foil and takes a tiny bit off. Maybe next time it would be best to stamp with a colour that matches the foil, then stamp with the Minc reactive paint. Then areas that don’t take the foil still have image showing.

I had the idea to do black and white stripes for a background. I started with a diagonal stripe but I needed to extend it as my card is 5×7. The caffeine levels were too low and I didn’t get the repeat to line up well so I switched to Concord and 9th sketched stripes background and did a long double stamped piece of paper.

I matted the rose on black, added some washi tape and adhered the panel with foam tape.

Sometimes cards are like putting together those self assembly things with Chinese instructions- you realise how you should have done it by the time you finish but you’re not going to redo it!
