Hi crafters. The December Altenew challenge is about being inspired by one of the inspiration photos from 2019. I have chosen the February challenge. This the February photo:
I was inspired by the romantic, pink flower. The shape of the foliage is also similar to the shape of the main flourish in the Baroque motif Stamp set ( if turned upside down). I was also inspired by the pale, clear background. I decided to try to make a pink, uncluttered card.
I started by stamping the large flourish on some pink pattern paper in Monarch Versafine Clair ink. I then used the matching stencil to add colour with the Rose petal set of inks and some small blending brushes. I then added black with a fine tip marker to the deepest shadows. I also added some white gel pen to the highlights. I cut the panel slightly smaller than a 5×7 card. I positioned the Mega Alphabet R die in the centre and cut it out. I also cut the die 3 times from hot pink cardboard. I glued these together and covered any white on the edges with a marker. I glued the patterned R on top. I cut some dark pink mirror paper to cover the 5×7 cardbase. I used the R to align and glue the little middle piece. When I glued the stacked die cut I offset it slightly so the mirrored paper shows. I covered the pale background bits on the letter R with Wink of Stellar so it sparkles.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
