Hi crafters. I have the honour of being a guest designer for Time Out Challenges’ 6th birthday celebration challenge. This challenge is generously being sponsored by Stamplorations.
The optional twist for the challenge is die cutting or fussy cutting. I decided to use some Stamplorations shaker balloons, which I cut from scrap and glued several layers together. I painted the edges with white gesso and glued an acetate layer on top. A top layer of white watercolour paper was added.
I made the background using two Stamplorations stencils: Tribal triangles and Merry go round. I used a sponge to apply matt acrylic paint through the tribal triangles stencil and let the colours overlap. I applied some lime green paint ( which looks yellow) over the top with the Merry go round stencil but it isn’t as obvious.
The nervous rabbit is Paper Artsy Zini 11. I stamped him onto watercolour paper with fadeout ink and then painted him roughly with acrylic paint. When that was dry, I stamped over the top with Black archival ink. I fussy cut him out and poked a hole on either side of his hand. I threaded 3 silver and white strings through. I glued my balloon shakers over some silver stars, and the glued the other end of the strings on top of the balloon. I made 3 bows from the twine and glued then over the balloon ends. I trimmed the ends of the strings and added some glue to stop them unravelling. I popped the rabbit up on some fun foam. The sentiment is from Stamplorations Baa Baa Stamp set. The panel ended up narrower than a 5×7 cardbase so I put a teal matt underneath.
I hope you will join me in wishing Time Out Challenges a happy birthday and many more to come. Join the celebration by linking up a birthday card.
