Saved from the bin

Hi crafters. I was reading a Dina Wakley book from the library (Art journal Courage), when I came to a section about what to do if you’ve done too many layers and cluttered a page beyond redemption. I had a page like that. It is old and I was going to throw it out. It had multiple stencil layers, some done with texture paste. Dina’s solution is draw shapes and then paint over the background around it. I drew some plants with black paint pen, and scribbled some water soluble crayons around the edges. I then painted the background with white acrylic. The white blended with the crayons. I went over the black edges and added some white highlights with a paint pen. The background was very lumpy due to the texture paste underneath, so I decided to stamp the Paper Smooches Feel Better Sampler sentiment on tissue paper and collage it on. My gluing wasn’t straight but I can’t fix it. I’ll just have to beware of that next time.

I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Add a sentiment.
