Grungy anniversary

Hi crafters. Simon says Stamp has a challenge to create your own background, so I decided to grab a few things in the craft room and see what happened. The basis for the background is a piece of corrugated cardboard with the top peeled off. I put a couple of stencils on top and added some paste. As the cardboard is textured it doesn’t give a clear stencilled pattern. I the gessoed and painted it with metallic and matt paints. I rummaged in my offcuts/unused diecuts and found some cardboard that had been cut with the Tim Holtz Harlequin and the Paper Smooches cross stitch dies. The crosses are from the Tim Holtz Crosshatch die. These were all painted and rubbed with gold wax. The Hero Arts sentiment was placed within a painted Paper Smooches Duo Die 4 frame.

I am entering the following challenges:

Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Make your own background.

Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Masculine

Thanks for visiting

Christine
