Embossed vellum

Hi crafters. CAS mix up challenge has an embossed vellum theme this month. I started by putting alcohol ink on my vellum. I added some blues and a grey plus isopropyl alcohol. I then dry embossed the vellum with a dandelion embossing folder. I was hoping the embossed bits would go white, but it was subtle. This made the dandelion a bit hard to see so I rubbed white paint over it. I tried it on white, grey and blue cardstocks and blue was the clearest. I sewed the vellum to the blue matt and glued that on the card. The white embossed sentiment is from Hero Arts Greetings Occasions stamp set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

CAS mix up card challenge for June:

My choice is stitching, alcohol inks and acrylic paint.

AMAZING, Christine! I LOVE this artsy sympathy card. The colours of the AI background are gorgeous paired with the dry embossed vellum. And sewing the panels together is so clever! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

Brilliant idea to sew the vellum onto the panel, but oh the effort of getting the sewing machine out! Your card turned out brilliantly, well worth that effort xx

I love the dandelions embossed on the vellum, Christine! The contrast with the dark blue is stunning! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I must try your alcohol ink on vellum technique, Christine. I Love your dry embossed on vellum dandelion images. So beautiful with the blue shades of alcohol ink on the background. I so agree…sewing the layers together was a brilliant idea:-) TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs…Nancy
