Dream catcher

Hi crafters. This card started by applying texture paste through the Paper Rose Hud stencil. I sprinkled WOW Vintage Peacock glitter embossing powder over the paste. After heating the powder I coloured the piece with water soluble crayons. At the same time I found the inside waste pieces from the Paper Rose Curly Barbed Wire die. I thought these looked a bit like feathers so I decided to make a dream catcher card. I painted the ‘feathers’ with Prima art alchemy metallic paints. At this point I felt it needed something else. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge came out and I thought that grunge might be just what it needed. I drew brown watercolour pencil around the raised portions, and moved it around with a waterbrush. I stamped the outside with a few Kaisercraft and Finnabair texture stamps and Acorn archival ink.

I glued gold metallic crotchet thread to the back of the ‘feathers’ and added some black foam for dimension. The other ends of the gold threads are actually sewn around a stencilled ring and held on the back with double sided tape. The sentiment was cut from glitter paper and multiple layers of teal cardstock to make it thicker. The die is Sentiments 662668 from Sizzix. The card is very sparkly but that doesn’t show up so much in the photos.
I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Grunge it up.

Happy crafting,
