Tiffany Christmas

Hi crafters. This is another photo transfer card. I started by painting aqua, gold and white acrylic paints on thick paper, and stencilled some gold stars at the top (which aren’t very visible in the end). By painting with acrylic, it is more resistant to water later, and gives a background colour which comes through the image. The photo is a Tiffany ad from a magazine. This wasn’t my first choice but the previous photo didn’t turn out. I applied heavy gel gloss medium to the photo, placed it over the dry background and then brayered from the centre outwards several times. (Wipe off any medium from the brayer so you don’t get medium on the back of the photo). I left it to dry overnight as this seems to work out best. I then sprayed water on the back of the photo and rubbed off the paper gently. (Don’t start rubbing on the edge). There were some problems with the gel medium on the left so I stencilled some Distress texture crackle paste mixed with gold paint. I added a layered sentiment diecut from Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon, and a few gems.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Add a photo

Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything Goes.
Happy crafting,
