Recycled stencil stand

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is recycle. I thought I would share my stencil stand in it. This was inspired by a Stencil Girl video. I am one of those people who can’t park in their garage because it has a lot of “useful” things in there. I went rummaging and used an old Ikea weighted lamp base, a threaded rod left over from renovation, a lampshade frame, metal motor casing from an old dryer, metal tubing from a lamp, wire that came with the house and a few nuts and washers. This project has evolved due to it falling over early on as the weight was uneven. I added more bracing and rigidity at the bottom and wire bracing at the top to fix that.

As the nut above the dryer motor casing is not tight, so the stencils rotate on the stand.
The stencils hang on IKEA Riktig curtain hooks
Stencils were labelled with Sharpie and dividers were diecut from an old laminated calendar and labelled with Sharpie.

The lampshade frame allows big stencils to hang up top, and smaller ones below. The lampshade rotates so I just turn it to find the stencil I want. They are mainly hung on IKEA Riktig hooks which I twisted to fit, plus a couple of rings. I find I enjoy and use the stencils much more since I made it. Use what you have crafters!
Happy crafting,
