Hi crafters. Well I couldn’t resist doing some more recycling for the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge. Instead of alcohol ink, I coated bubble wrap with paint. This was bubble wrap with no backing. I dribbled and rubbed rose gold and copper liquid acrylic paints on it. When that was dry, I taped it to a board and added brown liquid acrylic ink to the edges and misted and tilted, till it ran through the cracks. I put a book page behind it as bits are still see-through. The black, twisted foliage is plastic spiral book binding. I held my heat gun between my knees and put the plastic coil in the heat to soften it, and then pinched it into shape. I attached it to the bubble wrap background with heavy gel gloss medium. I found some metal wings from broken jewellery and added brown alcohol ink to them. These were glued behind the boy which was cut from The Photographers Handbook by Hedgecoe and Knopf. I found that book at the dump. I coloured the photo with coloured pencils. I cut Tim Holtz Crotchet pieces from black paper and rubbed on some brass acrylic ink. The sentiment comes from Clearly Besotted. I stamped it in Versafine Clair Acorn, clear embossed and then rubbed some rose gold paint over it.
I enjoyed turning unwanted things into art. Thanks to the challenge, I will never think about bubble wrap in the same way.
