Experiments with acetate.

Hi crafters. I am using another gel press print for the Simon says Stamp challenge but I wanted to try some secondhand acetate I found. It is transparency film for copiers – colour frame by unistat. There is a pale inner rectangle and a darker frame area. I tried the 4 colours against the print and went for blue. I used the dark and light parts together. I cut a panel with the guillotine. I thought it would be good to have holes to see the panel so I cut a square and rectangle with dies and smaller rectangles with a punch. The sentiment is Tim Holtz Sizzix sentiment words thin.

You can see I had a sentiment problem. I thought about different options and decided on vellum between the layers as you still see the print.

To make the letters more obvious I used an Arteza real brush marker in green on the vellum, using the acetate as a stencil. I wanted to be able to wipe off any mess and thought alcohol markers may be more permanent on the acetate. I held it all together with tape and then sewed it with lime thread.

I ended up changing my mind, ripping out the vellum and sticking purple letters through the holes.

I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Use more than 1 stencil.

Stencils used in print:

TCW: mini Ledger

Kaisercraft: grid

Dylusions: squares small
