Boy bling.

Hi crafters. I wanted to do a Neat and Tangled card with the tiny triangles stamp. I stamped it twice on watercolour paper. I heat embossed them with SSS gold embossing powder. I then started painting triangles with tea dye, gathered twigs and brushed corduroy distress stains. I left some triangles white. I then coated all the open triangles with heavy gel gloss medium ( basically clear acrylic paint). I was thinking this would act as a resist. I then sprayed the panel with water and started adding ground expresso, walnut stain, black soot and forest moss stains (all daubers). If the paper was a bit dry I misted it so they would spread. Early on I tilted it, hence the drips. The stains have coloured the top and edges of the white triangles so they look old and green stained. The solid gold triangles look more muted after the stains but still shines when tilted. I keep thinking of Gustav Klimt with the gold triangles.

I ended up deciding to use the Simon says Stamp grunge alphabet for the puny sentiment. I stamped in kraft and gold heat embossed. I dabbed over peeled paint, gathered twigs and ground espresso stains to make it easier to read. I edged the pieces with inks and stains and popped them up on foam.

This is going to be my masculine entry for:

Simon says Stamp Wednesday: Bling it on!

I am also entering this card in Neat and Tangled Stamptember competition on the Simon says Stamp blog.
