Hi crafters. This is a combined entry for the Tim Holtz Stamptember and Monochrome challenges.

For the Monochrome challenge I wanted to add heaps of texture to offset the single colour. I started with the Tim Holtz Burlap embossing folder. I rubbed Versafine Clair glamorous on the raised bits then clear heat embossed them. I then sprinkled it with Lindys magical Autumn Maple Crimson powder and spritzed. I cut the edges with (blunt) deckle scissors. I also used the keyboard embossing folder to do the party letters and rubbed glamorous ink on them plus distress stains in centre and glued red glitter around the outside. I put gloss varnish on them. I cut letters from the typeset alphabet Alterations die and covered them with stains and varnish too.

The background is scrunched paper run through a crafts-too snowfall embossing folder and rubbed with seedless preserves distress ink. I sewed the background to the card base and distressed the edges.

I sewed a strip of organza vertically on the left and glued the typeset letters to that.

I thought it still needed a bit more of a focal point so I collaged different things into a bunch. I was inspired by Anna-Karin’s tag and tried embossing a piece of scrap plastic with Tim Holtz’s Dot matrix and swirls folders, and adding cranberry and flamingo alcohol inks. There is also funky florals 2and 3; organza, polyester yarn(with alcohol marker to adjust colour) and beads sewn to a circle dyed with distress stains.

I am entering this card in the Tim Holtz Stamptember competition on the Simon says Stamp blog as well as the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Monochrome.
