Space boy

Hi crafters. Blog problems seem to have been resolved so I can get back to crafting! 🙂

I wanted to try stamping on busy gel print paper. This one is brayer paper, from rolling the brayer off between putting paint on the press. I thought the contrasting colours would make a good masculine card. I stamped the Astro boy stamp from Rubber Moon in Versamark and white heat embossed him. I then did the same with a sentiment from Altenew birthday greetings. I wanted to try something Lydia Fiedler did on her blog where she painted the image with watercolour ground to make it stand out of the busy background. I don’t have that, but I have distress stains. I painted his head with picket fence stain and his suit with rusty hinge and picket fence. You can’t see it much on the suit but it helps on his head. I was also thinking dilute gesso might work, but that’s an experiment for another day. I cut the paper with Waffleflower lacy layers 5x7dies.

I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything goes.
