    Hi crafters, Simon says Stamp has a wild things theme this week. I am experimenting with foiling images again. I also wanted to create a dawn scene for them. I used Spellbinders Make a Wish and Sizzix Birds and Stars dies to make stencils from scrap card. I stencilled Atelier heavy gel gloss medium through these. It is important not to let the gel ooze as it will resist watercolouring. I did this twice and second go there was still a little ooze which I lifted with a craft knife and used an eraser when it was dry to get rid of the shine and expose the paper. Once it…

    Foiled rose.

    Hi crafters,I’m back with another card from my foiling experiments. This one uses a Hero arts rose stamp, Minc reactive paint and pink Fab foil. I could have been more thorough applying the reactive paint but the rose is still gorgeous in pink foil. The sentiment comes with the rose stamp. I started by choosing pink and purple Arteza real brush pens to colour it with a water brush. I kept it soft as the foil is the star.     I love foil, why doesn’t it love me?

    Hi Crafters, Have you had those days where nothing goes quite right? I have tried foiling with a laminator but it was always blotchy on the foil and speckled throughout the background. I have been wanting those lovely results that others get.  I used a coupon to get a minc machine at a discount.  Today I tried it out. I wanted to do a foiled background for a Xmas card.  I have some Heidi Swapp products which I thought might work for stencilling.  I am going to show the results of each attempt and what I did for each one.
