    Decorated tree

Hi crafters. Another Christmas card done! I used the Reverse Confetti tall triangles die from 2 colours of green cardstock and glued these to green fun foam. I cut copper letters for the sentiment with Reverse Confetti Jingle all the way die. I adhered the letters and tree to some stiff pattern paper. I then decorated my tree with acrylic yarn ‘tinsel’ , gems plus a gold star. The yarn was actually sewn onto the background by threading it through holes next to the tree. It was a fun card to make, and I have leftovers to make another one! I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp…

    Stitched Hooray

Hi crafters. I have a card for The August Pinkfresh Studio Challenge. I am still spraying with masks. (See Kristina Werner’s recent post). I decided to use the small rose die from Pinkfresh Studio which was free with purchase around February. I thought this would be easy to sew. I cut it multiple times from contact adhesive vinyl and stuck these onto cardstock. I burnished them down with a bone folder and then sprayed in colours that worked with the challenge colours. I also added gold spatters. I then removed the contact and this panel is the result. I used a pokey tool to poke holes through the paper to…

    Stitched Adore You

Hi crafters. I made another entry for the Altenew July Inspiration challenge. This is the challenge inspiration photo: I started with a sample of upholstery fabric which had a nice texture. I tried stamping the stamp images with different inks but ended up using Versafine Clair Glamorous and Green Oasis as these were crisper and easier to see on the fabric and didn’t smudge with handling. I started outlining the flower images with red nylon embroidery thread and moved to floss for the rest of the flowers and leaves. I used various orange, pink and green threads, mainly in either 2 or 3 strands at a time. I used the…

    Fusion challenge

Hi crafters. The current Fusion challenge has such a sweet photo I couldn’t resist. I have been sewing on cards lately and I thought some ombré cotton would fit with the photo very well. I die cut the Paper Smooches cross stitch die in the centre of some pink cardstock. I stitched it with 2 colours of ombré cotton. The bird is from Flora and Fauna Floral aviary set and is coloured with alcohol markers. He is sitting on a branch from the Tim Holtz small tattered florals die set. I stamped the sentiment from the Flora and Fauna love bug set on a vellum heart. The panel was matted…

    Stitched pineapple

Hi crafters. I saw the new challenge at Paper Smooches and I couldn’t get this fabulous photo out of my head. Pink and yellow is a particularly happy combination. I decided to stitch a pineapple. I couldn’t find a pattern which was right so I used the Paper Smooches cross stitch die and cut an area that would fit on a 5×7 card, then drew a pineapple shape and just made up the rest. I used mainly crotchet cotton and a bit of floss. I was going to stitch the pink areas of the pineapple but I thought it looked more modern and fitted with photo better to leave them…

    Stitched rose

Hi crafters. I decided to stitch a flower. Before I started stitching I had to create the background as I couldn’t colour it later. I sprayed a piece of cardstock with pink, red and purple sprays. Then I adhered a piece of Pellon rainbow spun. This is synthetic ( I know as I melted some 😟) and apparently has many uses. I found this gold piece at the secondhand store. I glued it over the sprayed piece and sprayed again. The spray didn’t really sit on top but shows through the fibres. I then cut this piece twice with the Paper Smooches cross stitch die (this rectangular die seems to be…

    Stripey Stitches

Hi crafters. I turned another stitched panel into a card for the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is Stitches. I started with a panel which had been die cut with the Paper Smooches cross stitch die and stitched with crochet cotton. I realised if I trimmed close to the edges it would fit across a A6 card. I made a background with scrap strips and adhered the stitched panel with foam tape. I put stripes of cardstock on the edges of the stitched panel. The sentiment is from the Neat and Tangled Birthday tags die, with strips of cardstock behind it.

    Zig Zag

Hi crafters. Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week is Stitches, so I decided to make some cards from panels I had stitched. This panel was made from diecutting black cardstock with the Paper Smooches cross stitch die a couple of times to extend it sideways. The stitching was gone with crotchet cotton. Aqua gems were placed in some holes and the panel was adhered to blue cardstock with black foam tape. I decided to leave it without a sentiment for now. I can always add one later.

    Playful circles

Hi crafters. I had some orange threads on my craft table that I wanted to use and this is what I came up with. The background is painted paper which was made by brushing acrylic paints on paper or dribbling them on a gel press. I stamped the background with Kaisercraft script and Studio light circles in Versafine Clair Glamorous. I cut some MFT paper and the painted paper with Hero Arts infinity circle dies and glued them together. I arranged threads behind the big circle and adhered it with double sided tape. For a sentiment I used the Simon says Stamp smile circle with coloured photo paper. Instead of…

    Felted greetings

Hi crafters. Time for one more for the Stitch it up challenge at Simon says Stamp. The fabric scrap was sewn with crotchet cotton and machine sewn to card base. After successfully cutting felt in the last card, I thought why not have the sentiment in felt. The Will’s hand birthday die is from Tonic and the straight talk happy is from Technique Tuesday. I glued these on along with a starburst felt die cut from Your next Stamp. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge: Stitch it up! Merry Christmas everyone!
